EN”Yeah the Boys” follows six young Aussie men as they sink beers over an afternoon and well into the night. Emoting only through movement; lewd gestures, chokeholds, crowd surfs, and chugging shoeys, they somehow say everything without uttering a single word. Equal parts larrikin, brutal, and tender, this choreographic short film scored by The Avalanches is an observation of Australian masculine identity and our nation’s relationship with drinking culture.

ENAn eclectic film where suspense and cynicism occasionally meet the grotesque, “Round Trip” is, in many ways, reminiscent of the future masterpiece “The Cruise” (1981) by director Mircea Daneliuc. Set on the banks of a water, where several characters lounge with their bellies in the sun - sometimes chatting about everything and nothing, sometimes falling into meaningful silence - “Round Trip” is the diploma film of one the legendary filmmakers of Romanian cinema.

ROO femeie care lucrează în mediul corporatist merge într-o excursie cu o prietenă în zona rurală a României, unde speră să găsească o casă în care să se mute în viitorul apropiat, continuând să lucreze de la distanță. Pentru a avea o experiență rurală cât mai autentică, prietenele aleg să doarmă la casa unei bătrâne din sat, în loc de o pensiune. În toiul nopții, un sătean apare la ușa cazării lor și cere într-un mod agresiv banii împrumutați.

Cele două prietene încep să se teamă, gândindu-se că sunt cazate chiar în camera datornicului și că acesta va intra peste ele în orice clipă. Situația degenerează și ele asistă la crime pe care nu le-ar fi anticipat niciodată.

ENA woman who works in the corporate environment takes her friend on a trip to the rural area of Romania, where she hopes to find a house to move into in the near future, continuing to work remotely. In order to have a more authentic countryside experience, they prefer to sleep overnight at the house of an old lady from the village, instead of a touristic guesthouse. During the night, a local man appears at the door of their accommodation, aggressively demanding his borrowed money.

The two friends are starting to be afraid, thinking that they are staying exactly in the debtor’s room, and that the villager will come in to them, in any second. The situation escalates and they witness crimes they’ve never anticipated.

EVER SINCE, I’VE BEEN FLYING (2023)

Vakıf ne poartă în copilăria sa idilică cu mama lui, la prima iubire găsită într-un câmp de bumbac și pierdută în pădure și la abuzurile suferite din partea poliției, într-un loc rece și întunecat.

ENVakıf, a 60-year-old Kurdish man who grew up in a nomadic tribe in the mountains of southeast Turkey, recalls moments from his youth that have shaped his life. He takes us back to his idyllic childhood with his mother, his first love found in a cotton field and lost in the woods, and the mistreatment suffered at the hands of the police, in a cold and dark place.
